One clinic for your whole family. Kids, parents and grandparents all see the same team on Simcoe Street North for checkups, cleanings and fillings, with every visit on one chart, year after year.
Good oral health starts with the same three visits at any age: a checkup to catch problems early, a cleaning to remove what your toothbrush can’t reach, and a filling to repair a cavity before it spreads.
At Simcoe Smile Dental, all three sit under one general and family dentistry program, led by Dr. Dusa Sorichetti and her team. Your child’s first checkup, your filling and a grandparent’s cleaning all stay on the same chart, tracked by the same people.
New patients from Oshawa and across Durham Region are welcome. Appointments run mornings, afternoons and early evenings, so you can fit them around work and school.
Some signs point to a routine visit. Others mean you shouldn’t wait for your next appointment.
Plaque and tartar build up even with good brushing. A checkup catches problems before they need bigger treatment.
Bleeding when you brush or floss is an early sign of gum irritation. A cleaning and exam can address it before it becomes gum disease.
A dark spot, hole or rough patch is often a cavity. A filling fixes it before it reaches the nerve.
Pain with hot, cold or sweet foods can point to decay, a worn filling or exposed dentin that we should look at.
Food that keeps catching in one spot, or bad breath that brushing doesn’t fix, can mean a small cavity, plaque buildup or early gum disease.
Pain on one side is worth a checkup to rule out a cracked tooth or a problem that needs a root canal.
What a visit usually looks like, start to finish.
1
A full exam of your teeth, gums and mouth, with an oral cancer screening, gum pocket measurements, a bite check and an X-ray when needed. Most patients come every six months.
2
We remove the plaque and tartar that brushing and flossing miss, especially around the back molars and gumline. Most patients are due every six months.
3
If we find decay, a chip or a crack, we remove the damage and rebuild the tooth with a tooth-coloured composite, ceramic or glass ionomer filling.
Your first visit includes a full exam, two X-rays and a cleaning (two units of scaling and polish) for $199. We bill CDCP and most private insurance directly, and we’re happy to check your coverage before treatment starts.

Most patients should come in every six months. If you have gum disease or a history of cavities, our dentists may suggest a shorter interval.
We examine your teeth and gums, do an oral cancer screening and take an X-ray if needed to check between your teeth. We also measure gum pocket depth and can treat early white spots with fluoride before they become cavities.
A cleaning typically costs $120 to $300, depending on how much scaling you need. New patients can book a $199 cleaning and exam that includes two X-rays.
We use tooth-coloured composite, ceramic or glass ionomer, depending on the tooth and the patient. Composite often lasts 7 to 10 years or more, glass ionomer (often used for children) 5 to 7 years, and ceramic 15 years or more.

Yes. Our family dentistry covers kids as well as adults, so the whole family can be seen at one clinic. See our kids dentist page for details.
If decay has reached the nerve, a filling alone won’t fix it. We may recommend a root canal to save the tooth or, in more severe cases, an extraction. Catching decay early at a checkup is the best way to avoid this.
New patients welcome. We bill most insurance and the CDCP directly. Serving Oshawa, Whitby, Courtice, Ajax and Bowmanville.
Call during clinic hours or email us your name, phone number and what you need: checkup, cleaning, emergency, Invisalign, a free consultation, or your insurance or CDCP details. We’ll call you back to confirm a time.
